I rarely keep the drawings I've made for tattoos. More often than not, the only vestiges I am left with after a session are the blurry, used-up stencils and the photographs. While my client goes their separate way, wearing the piece for the rest of their life, I contemplate the fact that the product of my work only partly belongs to me. These sheets were composed using these remains and speak to me about the process of tattooing. It still blows my mind to think of all my clients walking around wearing the tattoos I've made for them, living their lives. I cherish those traces and the memories of our shared experiences.

The background texts are quotes from the Japanese novel "Dogra Magra" by Yumeno Kyūsaku, which deals with themes of amnesia and remembrance.
